The James Beard Awards is the Oscars of food. Their mission is to celebrate, nurture, and honor chefs and other leaders making America's food culture more delicious, diverse, and sustainable for everyone. With a longstanding history of supporting the culinary industry, S.Pellegrino is the presenting sponsor of the Rising Star Chef of the Year Award, celebrating the next-generation of great chefs and future luminaries. 

Ahead of the awards, S.Pellegrino profiles the finalists to introduce them to a wider audience, as they gear up to become that year’s Rising Star.

What we did

Many of these chefs will come shoulder to shoulder with food idols and celebrities as they walk their first red carpet for The James Beard Awards. So, playing off of S.Pellegrino’s enhance your moment mantra, we wanted to give them the celebrity treatment - getting them red carpet ready. And what better way to do that than to partner with Emmy-award winning style guru Tan France of Netflix’s Queer Eye? Tan surprised each nominee with a new look, lifelong memories, and also talked to each about their mentors and inspiration that got them to where they are today - helping introduce them to the culinary community at large before the big day.
